Born in Pennsylvania, Nan Griffith received a degree in Secondary Education from West Chester University. She taught for several years at the secondary and adult levels before moving to Denmark. Living abroad in Europe, Scandinavia, and the Middle East for a time, Nan’s interest in people and cultures grew to inspire her career in the fine arts over the past 30 years.

As past president of the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance, Nan has been active in the local arts community since moving from Texas to Georgia in 1985. As an artist and former partner and director of Heaven Blue Rose Gallery in Roswell, GA, Nan spent years showcasing and selling her works alongside those of dozens of other artists. Always exploring new media, Nan works in sculpture, painting, and collage.

The last three years have set off a proliferation of new collaged works using alcohol inks on yupo. The collection is entitled Murmurations/Migrations and consists of over a dozen pieces of mystical themes that Nan is well known for. This exciting period symbolically explores the world in both ancient and modern historical perspectives, aligning Nan’s transcendent connection to nature with her deep care for humans in transition.
